My first Devlog-Thoughts

So, as this is my first devlog, what should I talk about?

How about I talk about me and my first experiences with RPGMaker  first.

I had my first run-in with RPGMaker back during the first PlayStation days. While I was never serious at the time about becoming a game dev, I did make a few short RPGs on it. I first released Knight's Honor and Devil Hunter Monoko via a handy little device called the Dex Drive. While those games were relatively unknown, I was proud of them. I learned many things from those days- things like how switches work and code such as that. We also had a handy little website for the community called the RPGMaker Pavilion.

The Pavilion is long gone now, but I still have wonderful memories of it. And so, I moved on. I dabbled in future RPGMakers, but nothing ever really came out of it.

Then came Mario Maker and here I am making levels. I became so good at it, I started making a game...sorta. But Nintendo dropped it's ability to place online messages and the "game" lost all sense of cohesion. Plus, I was stuck behind a rating system that didn't give out the stars necessary to post more levels.

Ah, but I digress. We're getting away from the actual program that stoked my love for developing something again...RPGMaker MV. I bought it on sale in a Humble Bundle back in March. I opened it up and had no clue how to proceed. So I looked around on the net and found the wonderful RPGMaker community.

I took their advice, listened and followed SumRdnDude's tutorials, working on a Smple project as I learned the ropes. And that is how Mythos slowly came into being. It's not my dream project. But it is mine.

And now, I get to work on it, one handed. Well, that's because I was sidelined with a stoke two months ago. I spent a month in the hospital and it took forever to get this game transported to the current P.C. to work on it again. But it is being worked on and I'm excited to see what comes out of it.

Welcome to Omni Productions and it's first game.
